Business / Organization Brief Description :Banque Commerciale du Rwanda Limited (BCR) was incorporated on 25th May 1963 as the first commercial bank in Rwanda. In December 2004, BCR marked another milestone when it was privatized and acquired by Actis after recapitalization of the Company’s equity.
Actis (at that time Common Development Corporation) is owned 40% by the Government of United Kingdom and 60 % privately owned by the partners of Actis. Since Actis’ acquisition of an 80% share in BCR, the Bank has grown rapidly over the last few years and is now one of the foremost banking institutions in Rwanda. BCR has a strong reputation of reliability, solidity and innovation with a passion to serve and satisfy its customers.
